The Board of Friends of Green Hill Pond (FGHP) hopes that everyone continues to be well and staying safe in this trying time as the weather warms and our thoughts turn to summer.
As we announced a few weeks ago, the University of Rhode Island (URI) and Friends of Green Hill Pond (FGHP) had submitted a pre-proposal to restore the vulnerable dunes and improve tidal flushing, which would lead to better protection of the Green Hill Pond community and improvement in the Pond's water quality.
We are delighted to report that our pre-proposal scored well enough for us to be invited into the final round of this national grant competition. Specifically, the National Fish and Wildlife Federation have invited us to submit a full proposal by June 25 to compete for $125,000 in grant money from the $31 million National Coastal Resilience Fund. Awards will be announced in November. URI and FGHP will be working hard over the next 4 weeks to submit the strongest full proposal we can to help restore our Pond.
Thank you again for your ongoing support of our efforts.
All the best,
Friends Of Green Hill Pond
